Bye Batty and Sonoko!
Our friends left yesterday, after meeting up one last time for lunch at Five Guys. They'll be in the states for another week or so, but they've got family activities to attend to. Thank you both so much for coming to see us. Thanks for laughing at bad movies with me, and introducing me to new TV I had missed (Curb Your Enthusiasm is definitely going to get watched). Sonoko, thanks for being the voice of reason and keeping us from having one too many. And for driving us home. And introducing me to bizarrely fun DS rhythm games. J and I love you two muchly, and kiddo or no, we're going to come see you guys again. Someone has to take advantage of the new spare bedroom in Yokohama!

Thank you so much for letting us stay with you all those days, even as I was sick and no fun to be around. I'm sorry you were so insanely busy at work; I hope we didn't make it worse (although I'm sure we did).
